The short answer
These two get compared constantly and they are not the same kind of thing at all. Anavar is oxandrolone, a DHT-derived anabolic steroid. Clenbuterol is a beta-2 adrenergic agonist in the same family as asthma bronchodilators, with no anabolic activity in humans. They appear in the same conversations because both are associated with lean phases, but one acts on the androgen receptor and the other on beta-2 receptors. The muscle-sparing claims attached to clenbuterol come from livestock research at quantities with no safe human equivalent.
